Kenseth Looking for Third Win at Home Track of Michigan

Matt Kenseth
Team: No. 17 Crown Royal Ford Fusion
Crew Chief: Jimmy Fennig
Chassis: Primary: RK-741 (last raced at Charlotte)

Kenseth on racing at Michigan International Speedway:
“I consider Michigan one of my favorite tracks on the circuit and I always look forward to going to Michigan since it’s the Midwest and close to Wisconsin. We’ve had some good runs there in the past, not only for my team, but for Roush Fenway as a group. Success at Michigan is about having a great-handling car since it’s a big sweeping track with plenty of room and various lanes to pass. If you can get your car to handle the right way, you can have a lot of fun racing there. Racing at Michigan is also significant because the area is the headquarters for Roush Industries and Ford Motor Company, so it’s always a big weekend for us at a place we consider one of our home tracks.”

Crew chief Jimmy Fennig on racing at Michigan International Speedway:
“Michigan is a great place to race at on the circuit because it’s a track that allows drivers to race for track position as long as you have a great-handling race car. Strong cars are usually able to drive their way through the field at Michigan since it’s a wide track which gives drivers many different lines to run. Roush Fenway typically performs well at Michigan and it’s always something we strive for since Ford Motor Company is headquartered nearby. Matt has had a lot of success at Michigan and two-mile tracks in general, so I always look forward to Michigan.”
