Massa looking for first victory

Felipe Massa says his target for the rest of the season is to attempt to secure his first victory of the year.
Massa has been heavily outscored by his team-mate Fernando Alonso in the last two seasons, with his best shot of victory at Hockenheim last year scuppered when Ferrari told him to allow Alonso through. With Alonso 89 points behind Sebastian Vettel in the driver's championship, however, and team principal Stefano Domenicali saying that the team is now focussing mainly on 2012, Massa told the official Ferrari website that the target should be for either driver to chase victory with little regard for the championship.
"So now we come to the final eight races of the season," Massa said. "Which means there is still a lot of racing ahead of us and I agree with Domenicali that, as a team, we should simply try and win as many races as possible and score plenty of points, without looking too closely at the championship situation. Certainly from a personal point of view, my most immediate aim is to try and record my first victory of this year. It's not going to be an easy few months, but we are certainly not going to give up.

"I've enjoyed relaxing during this break, which was very welcome after a busy time up to Hungary, but now I am fully rested and eager to go racing once again, because all of us at Ferrari is keen to prove to our fans that we can do better in these final eight races than we did in the first eleven."
