Jenson Button has said that he wants to end his career at McLaren, as he confirmed he is looking to extend his current contract.
With his current deal running out at the end of this season there has been speculation over Button's future, with reports linking him with a move to Ferrari. Button has a contract option with McLaren for 2012, and team principal Martin Whitmarsh intimated that the team wanted to keep him during the German Grand Prix weekend. When asked by Marca if he wants to end his career at McLaren, Button confirmed he would like to extend his stay,

"Yes, as I said at the beginning of the year in China, I don't think those were my exact words but for me being at a team that has won many titles and can win the championship is exactly what I want. After winning the championship I want to be with a team that always gives me the opportunity to fight for it and this (McLaren) is one of them."
Button also said that he wasn't considering retiring in his mid-thirties, as he has no further career plans at present.
"I was thinking if I did four more years in formula one I would be 35 and I would retire from racing. I mean, what the hell am I going to do at 35?"
